Master the Mile High City

Three Unforgettable Experiences for Those with Limited Time

April 22, 2024

Denver, Colorado, my lifelong home, delivers a vibrant energy that sets the Mile High City apart. The city bursts with unmatched excitement. Whether diving into the diverse culinary scene, embarking on thrilling adventures, or relaxing in Wash Park, I've spent 23 years immersing myself in all Denver offers. Choosing between indulging your inner foodie or adventurist is challenging, but here are three things to satisfy your cravings in one weekend.

Casa Bonita: Indulge in Cliff Diving and Sopaipillas

Casa Bonita, one of my favorite places in Denver, isn't a typical restaurant. The vibrant pink exterior beckons you into a world of wonder. Cliff jumpers gracefully dive into the pool, creating a spectacle in the middle of the room. The tantalizing fajitas and sopaipillas invite me to savor the delicious flavors. With Black Bart's spooky cave, the arcade, and the lively mariachi band, my family and I always spend more time here than planned, captivated by the magical experience.

Elitch Gardens: Ride into Adventure

Elitch Gardens, nestled in the heart of Denver, holds a special place in my heart. I love the electrifying excitement of roller coasters. From conquering my first roller coaster to sharing laughs with friends, my memories of Elitch's are unforgettable. With coasters named "Mind Eraser" and "Boomerang," the adrenaline rush is guaranteed. Make Elitch's a whole-day adventure; you won't want to leave.

Ball Arena: Ignite the Excitement

As a proud Denver native, I am always inspired by the electrifying atmosphere of Ball Arena. Growing up, I watched my dad play hockey, turning me into an avid fan. Now, I love to watch the Avalanche. Most recently, my family and I shared a thrilling experience. On the edge of our seats, we witnessed MacKinnon's brilliant hat trick, leading the Avs to defeat Ottawa. Ball Arena offers the perfect location, with ample opportunity to explore the city after a game.

Last summer, I saw a concert in Civic Center Park. The sky turned purple, orange, and pink as the sun set. Combined with thousands of voices singing along to one of my favorite songs, I remembered why Denver is special. Surrounded by the people I love, I knew l'd never want to leave. I hope you can find your magic here and make Denver your home, too.
